After holding a meeting this evening, as a group we seem more confident with where our concept is going as well as with the structure to our documentary. Earlier on we had some issues with finding a location for us to film our scheduled interview on Tuesday (19th February), however after a group discussion, as well as advice given to us by the organisation we have arranged the interview with, we have decided to ask if there is an area within the hostel that we are staying at that we could use for this. Although this is not ideal, after contacting them they have agreed to giving us access to an area for this interview, free of charge, which is another advantage to us as some of the other places that we would have liked to have gained access to were charging prices that we could not afford as student filmmakers. This also means that the interview can still go ahead and that we can use part of Monday to get to know this area and plan out where members of the production team will be during this interview, as well as how to make best use of the space made available to us.
In terms of further contacts, Tristan from the Liverpool Street Art page on Facebook has agreed to meet with us and has also given us details of some key areas of art on the streets in Liverpool city centre that may be of interest to us to film during our stay in the city. He has agreed to meet up with us on Tuesday, from 3p.m onwards, where he will be based at the Baltic Quarter area of the city.
We feel as a group that now we have three separate contacts who have all arranged to meet us from different art backgrounds (Kieran from ZAP Graffiti, Catherine from Urban Canvas and Tristan, a street art festival organiser who is also a filmmaker), we will have more than enough content to film, and will be able to gather the celebratory theme of street art that we are trying to portray within our documentary by gathering the views of all of these people and placing it alongside footage of sights of street art around Liverpool.
